Cyberpunk 2077 will finally receive an update for the PS5 Pro from April 8

Three modes and native 4K on the program

The content of this update dedicated to the PlayStation 5 Pro will be largely devoted to Ray Tracing, which will undergo numerous technical improvements to allow better illumination of Night City, with its neon lights and other lit streets, in order to increase the immersion of players, thanks to the improvements made possible with the deployment of PSSR 2.0. This will notably involve the appearance of three modes dedicated to the PlayStation 5 Pro which will be as follows:

  • Ray Tracing Pro mode who is going enable all available Ray Tracing enhancementswith a qualified version of “the most visually accomplished” with 40 frames per second on screens compatible with a variable refresh rate (VRR), or 30 frames per second in other cases.
  • Performance Mode which will favor a maximum frame rate for a fast and fluid gaming experience. On VRR compatible displays, the game will reach up to 90 frames per second while maintaining a high visual fidelity.
  • Ray Tracing mode, an ideal compromise between graphics and performance, with targeted Ray Tracing improvements while maintaining a target of 60 frames per second.

Fairly classic modes for other productions which would have already taken the plunge previously, although we will tend to look more closely at the Ray-Tracing Pro mode which could well work wonders on compatible equipment, especially since the game was already perfectly playable as is. The game should also benefit from textures in Native 4K which until then was only dynamic. Be careful, however, no new content is expected with this update.
