Crimson Desert inherits a new patch including the explosion of the storage ceiling of the personal chest


All changes in Crimson Desert update 1.02

Impossible to transform a nature which is sometimes enough to provoke many facepalms behind rare moments outside of time, but Crimson Desert has already proven that it can gain flexibility and smoothness. The first big patch 1.01.00 and the various hotfixes received so far have been good for the game, and this weekend’s patch, bringing version 1.02.00, continues this effort.

Among the major new features, the personal safe sees its storage limit increase from 240 to 1,000 locations. Please note, the increase in size will occur little by little, at each stage of expansion of the Gray Mane camp. Another requested feature, an option now allows you to hide the headgear worn by the characters.

The patch is already available on PC (via Steam and Epic), PS5 and Xbox Series. For Macs, a little waiting is still necessary.

Including both patches and hotfixes (for specific platforms or not), we are still at the deployment of the ninth patch in two weeks. We are therefore not finished worrying about the development team, past the recognition of being able to benefit from an experience that is less and less cumbersome and frustrating. Especially since it’s probably not over.

Here are all the elements of the patch notes for update 1.02.00 of Crimson Desert :

  • Contents
    • The maximum capacity of Personal Depository has been increased from 240 to 1,000 slots.
      • Through the five stages of Camp Expansion content, you can increase the capacity of your Personal Depository as follows:
        • Standard: 240 slots
        • 1st expansion of the camp: +100 locations
        • 2nd camp expansion: +100 locations
        • 3rd camp expansion: +100 locations
        • 4th camp expansion: +100 locations
        • Latest expansion of the camp: +360 locations
    • Added additional Abyssal Nexuses to Pailune Camp.
    • Improved so that you can more easily identify explosive barrels by using the “Light Reflection” skill or lighting the lantern.
    • Fixed the error where, when a combat mission was completed before the end of the mission duration, comrades would not return until the timer ran out.
    • Fixed the error where the Abyss puzzle state would reset when viewing a base’s detailed information via the map’s “Inspect” menu while in the Abyss.
    • Fixed the error where the character would become invisible when an Abyss Artifact was obtained before the Abyss Restoration end cutscene started.
    • Fixed the error where the skills “Palm Strike: Heal” and “Palm Strike: Pounce” were also reset when resetting all stats.
    • The design of some monsters with special mechanics has been changed.
    • New exclusive armor and headgear for cats have been added.
    • Made an improvement so that you can also teleport to the Abyss Skygate that you have already completed restoring. (This change was applied in patch 1.01.00.)
    • Fixed the error where the bank investment refresh timeout would get stuck on “Refresh”. (Added: 04/04/2026 05:00 UTC)
  • Controls / Combat
    • Added an option to select motion controls.
      • They can be selected via Main Menu – Miscellaneous – Settings – Controls – Motion Commands, and two options are offered: “Standard” and “Classic”.
      • Detailed explanations are available in the in-game options menu.
      • “Standard” motion control: Holding the button to run accelerates.
      • “Classic” motion control: Repeatedly pressing the button to run accelerates.
    • Changed how stamina is consumed for mounts.
      • With the “Standard” motion control, holding the button to run consumes stamina at regular intervals while accelerating.
      • With the “Classic” motion command, pressing the button to run in Rush consumes stamina while accelerating with each press.
    • The conditions for using the Abyssal Nexus have been relaxed: it is now possible to activate it while moving, with the exception of certain specific situations such as when maneuvering a mount or using flight skills.
      • Additionally, we are planning an update soon that will allow the character to teleport alone, even when on certain mounts.
    • Improved so that holding down the key to jump in the air will cast the “Fly” skill.
    • Improved response time when entering a jump after an attack action.
    • Added a key guide for escaping from elemental ailments.
    • Fixed the error where the focus state would not cancel when using the skill “Crow Rush” while focused while flying.
    • Fixed the error where it was impossible to draw the weapon inside Démeniss Castle in certain situations.
    • Fixed the error where some bosses teleported too far during combat.
    • Fixed the error where the horses’ “Continuous Instant Acceleration” skill was not triggering correctly.
    • Fixed the error where the “Parry” skill did not execute correctly while using the “Concentratio” skill while having a greatsword equipped.
    • Fixed the error where the camera would rotate towards nearby enemies when aiming with a tool.
    • Fixed the error where it was impossible to interact with certain items while having a specific tool equipped.
    • Fixed the error where repeatedly pressing the button to run would allow you to reach maximum speed, regardless of the horse’s stats.
  • Quests
    • Fixed the error where, in Chapter 6, quest progression became impossible after defeating a Boss in certain situations following a save and then load of the game.
    • Fixed the error where progress on the quest “A Rumor Fueled by Greed” became impossible if the item in question had been sold before starting the quest.
    • Fixed the error where it was not possible to proceed with the quests in Chapter 11 due to the key disappearing from the inventory.
  • NPC / NPC Dialogues
    • Fixed the error preventing the appearance of certain NPCs related to quest progression.
  • UI Changes/Improvements
    • Improved so that the relevant item is used immediately when you go through the item usage notification shortcut displayed at the bottom right.
    • Change made so that, in the Shop sales window, items that can be sold are displayed first.
    • Reorganization of certain locations and contents of the key guides displayed at the bottom right to improve readability.
    • The Save and Load menus have been separated, and the save slot number display has been added.
    • Fixed an issue where the minimap scale would reset when riding a mount at maximum speed.
    • [Clavier/Souris] Fixed the error where the mouse cursor disappeared in the Repository.
    • Fixed the error where, when entering the horse’s inventory, moving objects sometimes did not work correctly.
    • Fixed the error where some menus were sometimes unresponsive to interaction or had a visually inconsistent display.
    • Fixed the error where a crash would occur in certain situations when opening or using certain UIs or menus.
    • Improved so that the “Sheath” button guide is displayed when you are in Mounted Combat.
  • Graphics/Settings
    • Added “Headgear Visibility” option to Settings > Languages ​​& Gaming.
      • You can select the option of your choice between “Always visible”, “Visible in combat”, “Hide only during cutscene” and “Always invisible”.
      • Additionally, a feature to hide weapons displayed on the character’s back, requested by many players, is also planned for the near future.
    • [PC/PlayStation 5/Xbox] Improved the quality of FSR Upscaling.
    • [PC] Application of FSR SDK 2.2.
    • [PC] Improved the quality of FSR image generation.
    • Fixed the error where memory increased when setting the DLSS RR option.
    • Improved the error where GPU overload and judder would occur when enabling FSR-RR/DLSS-RR options.
    • [PC] Fixed the error where leaves and other elements were not displayed correctly in ray tracing reflections when FSR-RR / DLSS-RR options were enabled.
    • Fixed the error where the top of the screen flashed when setting DLAA and HDR options.
    • [PC] Fixed the rendering error that occurred on the character’s face indoors when the graphics preset was at minimum.
    • [PlayStation 5] Improved quality of Enhanced PSSR on PlayStation 5 Pro.
    • [PlayStation 5] Native AA enhanced PSSR has been applied to PlayStation 5 Pro Quality mode.
    • [Xbox] Fixed the error where the behavior of V-Sync changed when you pressed the Home key.
    • [Xbox] Added Upscaling option in Xbox Series X performance mode.
  • Performance/Stability/Game Running
    • Optimized stability and performance on all PC, Mac and console platforms, and fixed the error where some crashes were occurring.
  • Location
    • Fixed various localization errors and improved quality in all languages.
  • Miscellaneous
    • Fixed the error where some walls in the Abyssal Corridor were missing.
    • Improved so that the position of the sound source also adjusts when the camera perspective is changed.
    • Fixed several other in-game errors.
  • Other fixes
    • Fixed the error where the weapon did not appear when using the “Piercing” skill while having “Bare Hands” equipped as a secondary weapon.
    • Changed so that licensing information can be viewed in the credits.
    • Fixed the error where the sound volume would decrease when an NPC achieved Victory in Mini-games such as Duet.
    • Fixed the error where background audio was distorted at specific locations and situations.
