Desires for the big screen
Daniel Vávra will continue working on the license Kingdom Come Deliverancebut not as creative director on an upcoming game. He is leaving his position to devote himself to adapting the games to the big screen, with a film for which a script is already being written. according to the CzechCrunch website. Martin Frývaldský, CEO of Warhorse Studios, explains the decision:
“ For some time now, we have been expanding the Kingdom Come brand beyond video games. Until now, we have been present in comics, concerts and tourism, but it is cinema that has attracted us the most. That’s why Dan and I are working on adapting it for the small or big screen. »
If he mentions both the small and the big screen, it is towards cinemas that he seems to be heading Kingdom Come Deliverance :
“ We are seeing interest from the film industry, negotiations are already underway. We don’t just want to sell the rights, we want the film to be consistent with our vision. »
It is therefore for this last reason that Daniel Vávra will personally take care of the project, which will thus distance him from the development of the studio’s next game. He is still part of Warhorse, although his role is very different and far from the studio. We now don’t know who will want to adapt the license for the big screen, since no director or film studio is yet attached to the project. But since Hollywood has its eyes on video game adaptations, that’s not likely to last long.
