Black Ops 7: finally some good news for the days after weeks of frustration

For Black Ops 7 players, the Endgame experience was as much a tactical challenge as it was digital Russian roulette. Deployed as a playable epilogue to the campaign, this open-world four-player cooperative mode offered a new, intense, punishing field of experimentation. Except that one major problem spoiled the party: impromptu disconnections, which reduced hours of progress to dust.

In November 2025, Treyarch has finally taken the lead and deployed a patch that has been awaited for weeks, giving players back a minimum of control over their time investment.

The disconnection bug in Endgame: a nightmare finally solved

Imagine: after 45 minutes spent exploring Avalon, looting, fighting and progressing, a simple black screen, a return to the main menu… and all is lost. No returns possible, no backup, no inventory to recover. Endgame mode, despite its ambitions, had become synonymous with instability.

Facing a wave of community criticism, Treyarch announced a crucial update. Here’s what actually changes for players: “Now, when you deploy on Avalon, your combat level will be saved at the start of the game. Progress and extract to increase your combat level; if you fall in combat or fail to escape, you will lose everything. However, in the event of a disconnection, you will start your next game with the combat level you had at the start of the previous game, in order to continue your progress towards combat level 60.”

This change makes it possible to secure a base for progression, even in a mode which remains fundamentally punitive. The risk remains intact in the event of defeat or failed extraction, but a server disconnection is no longer synonymous with total deletion.

Endgame: a mode that divides, but which could change everything

Introduced as an “epilogue” to the campaign, Endgame allows players to continue their story in a semi-open environment, with three teammates. Dynamic objectives, free exploration and increasing power are on the program. But the punitive system – death = lose everything – was reminiscent of the mechanics of Modern Warfare II’s DMZ mode, without however being completely convincing due to the bugs.

With this patch, Treyarch clearly shows its intention: to make Endgame sustainable, strategic and competitive. And the season 1 already announced should further enrich this mode with new objectives, equipment and difficulty levels.

Black Ops 7: criticized but dense

Despite a criticized single-player campaign – some players describe it as a “disaster” on the forums – Black Ops 7 stands out as one of the richest parts in franchise content: zombies, PvP, coop and now Endgame. For fans who want to “get their money’s worth”, the bet seems to have been met.

With this saving patch, Treyarch could well begin to regain the trust of a demanding community. It remains to be seen whether future updates will follow the same path, and whether Endgame will ultimately be able to compete with the historical pillars of the game.
