Black Ops 7: Activision announces excellent news after a chaotic start

On Friday, November 21, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 reaches an important milestone. All players will now be able to freely access Endgame mode, without having to complete the cooperative campaign. Until now, this very popular mode remained stuck behind a progression considered laborious by a large part of the community.

The launch of the game at the beginning of the month attracted significant criticism, particularly on the artificial intelligence and the campaign scenario. The launch weekend was marked by a disappointing number of players, especially against the competitor Battlefield 6. However, certain multiplayer modes, and in particular Endgame, managed to do well. It is therefore a strategic reversal on the part of Activision, barely two weeks after the official release.

A popular mode but difficult to access

Until now, Endgame mode required having completed the entire campaign, which discouraged many. This condition is now lifted. All players, regardless of their progress in the game, will be able to discover this cooperative mode in the open universe of Avalon. As a team of five, they will have the opportunity to complete objectives, face other squads and explore the map.

This gesture seems to want to reward loyalty while opening the doors more widely to a fashion whose success relies on affluence. Universal access could revive interest in a title with a lackluster start.

A bet to relaunch engagement

By making Endgame accessible to everyone, Activision is obviously seeking to regain the attention of a dispersed public. This choice is reminiscent of the DMZ model from Modern Warfare 2, a multi-player extraction and survival mode that had attracted a solid player base. It remains to be seen whether this decision, considered sudden by many fans, will really boost engagement around Black Ops 7.
