Bethesda disappoints fans with announcements that smell too reheated

Fallout 4: The new Skyrim?

We start with the Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition which celebrates 10 years of the game. The edition includes the base game, the six DLCs (Automatron, Far Harbor, Nuka-World, Wasteland/Contraptions/Vault-Tec Workshop) and more than 150 contents from the Creation Club. In addition, an in-game “Creations” tab will provide easy access to community content.

Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition will be released on November 10 next sir PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC. In parallel, a Nintendo Switch 2 edition is announced for 2026. A first for the license which is finally arriving on a Nintendo console.

No jackpot for Fallout New Vegas

Without doubt the biggest disappointment of the show, the announcement around Fallout New Vegas. To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Obsidian’s cult RPG, Bethesda is releasing a collector’s bundle including a PC code for Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition and goodies (a statue of Victor 8, Dr. Mitchell cards, a Vault Boy pin, Mojave Express & NCR badges and a collector’s box).

Many were waiting for the announcement of a remake or remaster, but this is all the more surprising since the title barely runs on PC these days (we relaunched it after the release of the series and we can tell you that it remains very complicated today without an unofficial patch). Fallout: New Vegas – 15th anniversary bundle is expected for June 2026 on consoles and PC.

Fallout 76 and Fallout Shelter: still standing

As teased some time ago, Bethesda has confirmed the release of “Bruning Springs” update for Fallout 76 for early December with a new desert-inspired region, set in post-apo Ohio. We will be introduced to the profession of bounty hunter, a field marking the return of “The Ghoul” with the voice of Walton Goggins, who plays the character in the Prime Video series.

Bethesda also confirmed native PS5 and Xbox Series ports of Fallout 76 for 2026. Finally, Fallout Shelter introduces a Seasons system : limited-time shelters, separate from your main Shelter, with dedicated themes, challenges and other rewards.

Even if Bethesda makes a specialty of re-releasing the same games several times, like Skyrim (and it works), many regret the absence of a major new iteration in the franchise or a highly anticipated remaster/remake. Todd Howard, the boss of Bethesda, intervened at the end of this Fallout Day to thank the community and specify that the studio is “working on more things right now” and that they are waiting “for the day when they can share it all with everyone”. You will therefore still have to be very patient.

In the meantime, we can console ourselves with season 2 of the TV series which arrives in December.
