EA and DICE activated this October 28 update 1.1.1.0available on all platforms. This patch coincides with the launch of the highly anticipated season 1which inaugurates the Battle Passbut especially the REDSEC Battle Royale mode, playable for free.
To take advantage of this, a restart of the game may be necessary. And this update is not trivial: it brings radical changes in many aspects of the game, from weapon accuracy to animations, sound effects and on-screen readability.
Smoother movements, sharper aim, better visibility
The work on the game feel is at the heart of this update. The developers announce:
- More natural movement transitions
- Smooth landings
- Jumping, sliding and climbing animations fixed
- First and third person camera improvements
On the weapons side, the bullet dispersion has been completely reworked to match the profile of each weapon. Low damage rifles lose stability, while more powerful rifles gain accuracy.
A patch that touches everything: audio, maps, vehicles, gadgets, HUD…
It’s hard to find an aspect of the game that hasn’t been affected by this update:
- Audio : the sounds of destruction, explosions and shots are refined, with distance effects better managed.
- Cards : Many spawning, collision and area limit issues have been fixed, notably in Mirak Valley, New Sobek City and Siege of Cairo.
- Gadgets : better management of interactions and visual corrections (defibrillators, grenades, zipline).
- UI/HUD : new progress markers, reworked end-of-round animations, corrected reward display.
- Stability : better management of animation during sliding, posture transitions and climbing.
Finally, many bugs related to single player mode, portal and multiplayer animations have been fixed. A parachute customization option was even added.
A decisive update for the future of Battlefield 6
This update is just the first in a series expected throughout Season 1. DICE promises regular adjustments based on player feedback, with an emphasis on balancing, fluidity and responsiveness.
With the official launch of Battle Passof REDSEC mode and from this major technical overhaul, Battlefield 6 begins a new chapter. It remains to be seen whether this development will succeed in convincing the most skeptical.
