Since its launch, Battlefield 6 faced a particularly frustrating problem: bullets that seemed to hit enemies, but never dealt damage. This phenomenon, called the “ghost bullets” bug by the community, has been the subject of numerous reports on player networks and forums.
Good news: a fix has just been deployed by Battlefield Studios, as confirmed by several technical managers of the game. The studio specifies that the origin of the bug was linked to certain combinations of weapon accessories, causing a failure to record impacts.
“We are aware of reports of rare cases where bullets may not deal damage when hitting enemies. After investigating, we found that this is related to certain combinations of weapon attachments. A hotfix has been deployed to address the issue. We will continue to monitor the matter closely.”
Other adjustments included in the October patch
Beyond ghost bullets, other changes have been made in this update. On the map Manhattan BridgeTHE zone exit delay for vehicles in Conquest and Crescendo modes is now increased to 10 secondscompared to 5 previously.
“We took your feedback into account and increased the area exit delay for vehicles on Manhattan Bridge (Conquest and Escalation modes) from 5 to 10 seconds, to give you more time to turn around and return to the battlefield.”
Another adjustment concerns Conquest mode on several maps, with a reduction in the number of departure ticketsto speed up the end of games and avoid long sessions frozen by the time limit:
- Siege of Cairo: from 1000 to 900
- Empire State: from 1000 to 900
- Iberian Offensive: from 1000 to 900
- Liberation Peak: from 1000 to 800
- Manhattan Bridge: from 1000 to 800
- Operation Firestorm: from 1000 to 700
- New Sobek City: from 1000 to 900
- Mirak Valley: from 1000 to 700
Finally, an additional patch released in parallel adjusted the initial speed of certain weapons and increased the number of tickets in Rush mode, to further balance the games.
Battlefield Studios stays the course, despite the pressure
On Florian Le Bihanlead designer of Battlefield 6, has confirmed that the bullet bug is now under control. He also clarified that the studio is not considering a return to open beta, while promising more adjustments to come:
“We are currently deploying a hotfix to correct the issue observed when bullets hit an enemy and blood splatter is visible without causing damage. This issue was occurring intermittently with certain weapon and attachment combinations and should now be resolved.”
“We won’t be returning to Open Beta, but we’re working on some minor tweaks that will improve some of the more complex parts. We’ll let you know more as soon as possible!”
Despite these improvements, pressure remains strong around Battlefield 6already sold to 6.5 million copies since its release on October 10, 2025. Players are now awaiting broader fixes for snipers, movement and campaign mode, which have been regularly criticized in recent days.
