Battlefield 6’s Battle Royale mode could launch in just a few days. This is what asserts Tom Hendersonone of the most reliable insiders in the industry, particularly on the Battlefield series. In a post on
Neither EA nor Dice have yet made this information official, but the schedule seems too specific to be just rumor. The mode would indeed coincide with the launch of season 1 of Battlefield 6, already planned for this date. Everything therefore suggests that the Battlefield BR will make its surprise entry, like Warzone at its beginnings.
Battlefield wants to replicate the Warzone recipe with a free BR
After the failure of Battlefield 2042EA is playing big with this new opus. The successful launch of Battlefield 6 at the beginning of October (more than 6.5 million copies sold) gave new hope to the license. But to compete with Call of Duty, it needed a centerpiece: a standalone and free Battle Royale modeaccessible even to non-owners of the main game.
This is precisely what this leak promises. Like WarzoneBattlefield 6’s BR would run alongside the main game. It would offer a free multiplayer experience, downloadable separately, intended to reach a much wider audience than traditional buyers. This strategy would aim to reach the goal of 100 million players discussed internally before the launch.
An expected launch, but still shrouded in mystery
For the moment, no details have filtered out on the size of the map, the game mechanics, or the number of players. We also don’t know if this Battle Royale will be strictly PvP or will include bots, a mechanic already contested in classic multiplayer. The only certainty: EA takes direct inspiration from its rival Activision to restore Battlefield to global stature.
The date of Tuesday October 28 therefore seems more than likely. If this information is confirmed, all players – even those who do not own Battlefield 6 – will be able to access this new mode for free. An ambitious offensive which could mark the definitive return to grace of the franchise in the face of a Call of Duty losing momentum.
