Animal Crossing: New Horizons is offering a shower of Zelda gifts, no strings attached

This is perhaps the best surprise of the start of the year for fans of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. With the arrival of the update 3.0 On Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, the developers have introduced a whole host of new free content. Among them, objects inspired by The Legend of Zeldawhich rekindle the enthusiasm of a community that is still very active.

The announcement was all the more surprising as it followed an upgrade to the Switch 2 version, considered rather disappointing by many players. However, 3.0 was able to make up for it thanks to concrete additions: a fully customizable hotelLEGO and Splatoon objects, but above all, Zelda items coveted. “A surprise, certainly, but a good surprise.”

What new Zelda items are available?

Thanks to this update, players’ islands can now be adorned with new elements from the Link universe. Among the objects spotted: the Three Ring Canewall decorations, temple-inspired furniture, and even wearable accessories. These items complement the already existing collection of Super Mario objects, further reinforcing the Nintendo atmosphere that some players love. But be careful, some of these items are not available directly in the game’s standard catalog.

The classic method: using a Zelda Amiibo

Officially, to access these special items, all you have to do is scan a Legend of Zelda amiibo on the residents office terminal. This allows you to invite a new themed villager to your island, which unlocks associated items in the gift shop. This method also works with amiibo from Super Smash Bros.as long as they are related to the Zelda or Splatoon universe. That said, not all players own these figures, which can be expensive or difficult to find today.

The community tip: use Nookazon

This is where the community took over brilliantly. “The good news is that the Animal Crossing community has come together to ensure that everyone can have access to these special items, without having to purchase the corresponding amiibo.”

By going to the site Nookazonmanaged by fans, it is possible to buy or exchange these items via in-game currency or other rare items. The system is simple: a constantly updated database allows you to know who owns such object and at what price it is offered.

Are you looking for a Three Ring Cane or a Hylian statue? Simply type the item name and then contact the seller. “It’s also the perfect place to sell turnips if you’re getting back into the game and your island needs a little financial boost.”

A generous and well-organized community

If the system is based on exchange, some Nookazon players go further and actually offer objects or sell them at very low prices, to encourage mutual aid. The bells do not fail to be redistributed to the most motivated.

This alternative functioning reinforces the idea that the Animal Crossing community is one of the most supportive in video games. “A big thank you to all the Nookazon players who donated their time and bells so we could all have access to these awesome new items!”
