AKIBA PASS TV shows RomCom series “Gals Can’t Be Kind to Otaku!?”


Publisher peppermint anime announced today that it has secured the license for the anime adaptation of “Gals Can’t Be Kind to Otaku!?” (Japanese: “Otaku ni Yasashii Gal wa Inai!?”) and will publish it on demand. We summarize.

According to current plans, “Gals Can’t Be Kind to Otaku!?” will appear weekly on Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. from May 7, 2026 in the original Japanese dub with German subtitles as a purchase and rental title on AKIBA PASS TV. It is still unclear whether a disc release will take place at a later date.

The studio TMS Entertainment is responsible for the production of the RomCom series, which has been running in simulcast on Crunchyroll since April 8, 2026, and is directed by Arata Mita (episode director for “High Card”).

The original manga series of the same name by Norishiro-chan has been published in the “Comic Zenon” magazine since August 2021 with drawings by Sakana Uozumi. The work is available under the title “Are there no gyaru who are nice to otaku?!” from Panini Manga with a German translation.
