A video of the canceled MMO at ZeniMax shows us the world of the project

An overview of the buried project

The video in question of the project Blackbird was posted on social networks via the eXtas1s accountthen verified by Insider Gaming who is able to confirm its authenticity. We then see two minutes of in-game images (with the help of the Unreal Engine 4) from Blackbird, which should therefore have been an MMO in a science fiction/cyberpunk world which show to what extent the studio was going to deviate from its other flagship game, The Elder Scrolls Online.

This video only shows a few settings in order to set an atmosphere, and does not reveal any gameplay, given that these should be extracts from a build that is not yet advanced. As a reminder, at one point, the MMO was indeed playable internally since Phil Spencer was able to test it and would have greatly appreciated his time spent on it. Which did not prevent him from ending development of the project a few months later.

According to Insider Gaming, Blackbird was aiming for a release sometime in 2028. It remains to be seen whether Sackbird Studios will use some of the elements seen here for its first game.
