Take out your best racket
One of the great particularities of this Mario Tennis Fever turns around “French Rackets”, special rackets that add unique effects to your shotswhether to ignite the terrain, freeze it, or summon an enemy to your opponent’s side. Certain attacks can even reduce your life points, which will put you out of the game for a while. Enough to add an additional layer of gameplay, especially since 30 rackets of this type will be available when the game is released.
And rest assured, if you want to enjoy the classic experience of a Mario Tennis without these rackets which change everything, you will be able to participate in matches with standard rackets. New playable characters are also confirmed here, with:
- Goomba
- Carottin
- Baby Waluigi
And this for a total of 38 charactersthe largest cast in the series. As for the game modes, we now have confirmation that we will find the following modes:
- Adventure : A “Story” mode where you follow baby Mario
- Tournament : A classic mode with only one winner at the end
- Tower of Trials : Complete a series of challenges with special rules
- Ring challenges : You will have to aim for the rings above the nets to score points
- Forest tennis : Aim for Piranha Plants to expand the terrain
- Pinball tennis : A game with obstacles that make the ball bounce everywhere
- Racket Factory : Use the Frenzied Rackets that appear throughout the match to gain the upper hand
- Tennis prodigies : A match with many unexpected and surprising rules
Local 4-player multiplayer is planned (and online), while GameShare allows you to enjoy the title on several consoles linked together with a single copy of the game (even on the first Switch).
Mario Tennis Fever will be released on February 12 exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.
