A roguelite mode that profoundly transforms the experience
With Trials of the Lodge, Broken Ranks ventures into roguelite territory for the first timein what the developers describe as “a game within a game.” The mode will offer procedurally generated courses, during which we will face new enemy compositions while managing combat conditions modified from one attempt to another.
The studio explains that it wants to offer content with high replayability, where “every decision counts”, especially those taken between clashes. The different areas of the mode will adapt to your level, with access open from level 35, whether solo or in a group.
Whitemoon Games also announces a permanent progression system, fueled by rewards earned at the end of a run. This will allow you to improve your character for subsequent attempts, but also to obtain bonuses that can be used outside the mode. In order to encourage players to return regularly, Trials of the Lodge will benefit from weekly resets like other titles in the genre.
According to the developers, this mode constitutes one of the most ambitious projects of recent months and marks an important step in the evolution of Broken Ranks towards new forms of competitive activities or PVE. They define it as “a space of ambitious challenges” and “a zone of tactical testing under changing conditions”. The studio promises to provide more information in the days leading up to launch.
Broken Ranks Trials of the Lodge will be released on December 16.
