New “Jujutsu Kaisen” film breaks billion mark in Japan

The new recap and preview film for “Jujutsu Kaisen” has grossed one billion yen in Japan after just ten days. We summarize.

Over 1 billion yen

Even though “Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution -Shibuya Incident x The Culling Game Begins-” had to give up first place in the Japanese cinema charts to the current long-running hit “Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc” in the second week after its premiere, the film remains extremely successful.

Just ten days after its premiere on November 7, 2025, it achieved box office revenue of 1.12 billion yen (around 6.2 million euros) with around 740,000 cinema tickets sold – a third of what the sequel to “Chainsaw Man” earned in the first ten days after its theatrical release.

In this country, the evening filler, which consists of a summary of the “Shibuya Incident” arc from the second season and the first two episodes of the “Culling Game” arc from the third season, will be in cinemas from November 25, 2025.

The regular simulcast start of the third season is planned for January 8, 2026 in the original sound with German subtitles on Crunchyroll.
