The most risky collaboration of 2025
The first question that comes to mind when we see the trailer for the premiere is how IO Interactive could have had such a bold idea. It must be said that the rapper also made an appearance recently in Fortnite with dedicated skins. Coming back to Hitman, “Eminem vs Slim Shady” is the new “Target Fugitive” which places the rapper face to face with his own alter ego, in a completely surreal mission written with Eminem himself and his producer Paul Rosenberg.
Agent 47 is sent to a Hokkaido transformed into “Popsomp Hills Asylum”, where he will have to track down Slim Shady in a series of thematic areas including a recording studio, distorted corridors and even visions inspired by the rapper’s imagination.
The mission promises to multiply references to Eminem’s discography such as a nod to Mom’s Spaghetti or a sequence directly inspired by Houdini.
Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive, speaks of a “unique moment, unimaginable at the time of the creation of World of Assassination”. Eminem himself adds with humor: “I tried to put Slim to rest, but he kept coming back. I called a professional to fix it.”
