the return of Velvet is confirmed for early 2026

Velvet returns for revenge

Although the announcement of Tales of Berseria Remastered which is excellent news for JRPG fans who have not yet played the adventure released in 2017, this choice is somewhat surprising as a long-time fan of the saga. Indeed, other episodes seemed more priority for a return, notably Tales of Destiny (in its PS2 remake version) or Tales of Rebirthboth still unpublished by us. We could also have imagined a Tales of Zestiria Remastereddespite its mixed reception at the time, especially since Berseria constitutes its direct prequel.

Still, we are not going to shy away from our pleasure at seeing one of the franchise’s best recent vintages return. Despite a technical lag on PS4, the ultra dynamic gameplay and dark atmosphere of this episode particularly appealed to us. Without forgetting a very endearing overall cast with a striking heroine in the spotlight.

According to Bandai Namco, Tales of Berseria Remastered will bring improved gaming comfort. For example, the possibility of deactivating enemy encounters, the addition of objective markers or even immediate purchases in the Grade Shop from the start (normally available in New Game +). Moreover, it will include more than 70 DLC from the original game. From a visual point of view, it is still difficult to see the difference with the game available on PS4 which still offers an acceptable rendering today.

Tales of Berseria Remastered will be released on February 27 on PS5, Xbox Series, PC and Nintendo Switch. Two editions are announced :

  • The Standard edition simply containing the game at €39.99
  • A Deluxe edition for €59.99 with additional content: a digital artbook, the digital soundtrack, a combat music pack from other Tales of and item packs.
