A free-to-play to watch
If you don’t know what is Where Winds Meetthis is a free-to-play which takes place at the very end of the Dynasty of the Ten Kingdoms in China, with a very pronounced fantastic dimension to explore all the local folklore. Here you can travel in a large world to go on an adventure and carry out several jobs, with lots of different mechanics which will draw on many diverse and varied influences, hence the fact that the title will often be described as a catch-all.
The game published by NetEase has now found its first audience since this weekend, Where Winds Meet managed to reach 2 million downloads. We are of course miles away from the epiphenomena that other gacha-oriented free-to-play games have been, but the performance is still worth noting. Especially on Steam, where this new little-known license reached a peak of more than 193,000 people connected simultaneously during the day on Sunday.
Since opinions are currently positive around the title, even if we are far from unanimous, there is a chance that the community will continue to grow over the weeks. It remains to be seen how NetEase will now succeed in maintaining curiosity around this free game.
