Today the publisher polyband anime is bringing the prequel film “The Birth of Kitaro: The Secret of GeGeGe” to German cinemas. In keeping with this, we’ll summarize all the details again and present you the German trailer.
German and Japanese
The approximately 105-minute-long evening filler can only be seen today in a German dubbed version and in the original Japanese sound with subtitles in around 140 cinemas. You can find a list of all participating cinemas below.
The studio Toei Animation was responsible for the production of the film, which celebrated its cinema premiere in Japan in November 2023, and was directed by Gou Koga (“Digimon Universe App Monsters”).
“The Birth of Kitaro: The Secret of GeGeGe” is a prequel to the 97-part series “GeGeGe no Kitaro” from 2018, which is based on Shigeru Mizuki’s manga series of the same name and is available on Crunchyroll.
