Call of Duty Black Ops 7 playable now thanks to a simple trick

While Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is about to shake servers around the world with its launch this November 14, an old trick resurfaces… and still works. The most impatient players in fact use what is called“New Zealand tip” to dive early into the game’s multiplayer and single-player modes, without hacking, cheating, or risk of banning.

Why New Zealand?

It’s simple: New Zealand is one of the first countries in the world to enter a new day, with a time difference of +13 hours compared to GMT. Result: if the game is scheduled for midnight on November 14, it is already playable from 11 a.m. on November 13 in Franceby virtually geolocating in this region.

This tip works perfectly for Xbox gamersand to a lesser extent for those on PlayStation. On the other hand, the PC players will have to wait until the global unlock, scheduled for 6 a.m. (French time) on November 14 on Steam and Battle.net.

How to play Black Ops 7 early on Xbox

  1. Install the game in advance (digital version or Game Pass).
  2. Meet in the Settings > System.
  3. Select Language and regionThen New Zealand in the Region menu.
  4. Restart the console.

That’s all. Once restarted, Xbox thinks you live in New Zealand. The game therefore unlocks automatically according to local time.

Good to know: no player has ever been sanctioned by Xbox for this method. Even the Xbox New Zealand account regularly has fun with it on social networks.

On PlayStation: it’s possible, but less practical

If you are on PS4 or PS5, the principle is similar… but requires a little more manipulation:

  1. Create a new PlayStation account with a different email address.
  2. When creating, choose New Zealand as country of residence.
  3. Log in to this account from your console.
  4. Buy or download Black Ops 7 with this new account.

Please note: your progress may not be fully transferable to your main account. Linking this secondary account to your Activision account is recommended to secure cloud data.

And on PC?

Unfortunately, the trick does not work on PC. The release on Steam and Battle.net is globally synchronized, meaning all players will have to wait for the exact unlock time, regardless of world region.

Is it risky?

No. Although the Xbox Terms of Service state that “bypassing regional restrictions” is prohibited, no sanctions have ever been applied. In 2021, when launching Forza Horizon 5Xbox even joked: “Kia Ora to everyone who moved to New Zealand last night! »

Even Aaron Greenbergvice president of Xbox marketing, reacted with humor. Suffice to say that the practice is tolerated as long as it remains punctual and without abuse.

Why play in advance?

Besides the simple pleasure of having a head start, some players want to take advantage of this tip to:

  • Unlock multiplayer modes and progress faster.
  • Avoid spoilers or server queues.
  • Discover the single player campaign before the others.

And for the most competitive, unlock their first multiplayer gear before the servers are crowded, this is a real strategic advantage.
