A new free FPS is coming to Steam: an explosive mix between Call of Duty Zombies and Days Gone

Zombie fans, prepare to plunge back into post-apocalyptic hell! Vector Interactive studio has just launched on Steam Ravenous HordeA Free multiplayer FPS which combines the most cult elements of Call of Duty Zombies, Days Gone, Left 4 Dead and even resident Evil.

The game promises intense sessions with 64 players where cooperation… is temporary. For in this infested battlefield, to die means to join the horde. And that’s where everything changes.

Gameplay: survival, betrayal and strategy

At the start, you play as a hunter armed to the teeth, supported by dozens of other survivors. The objective? Stand in the face of an ever-increasing hordewith the only salvation: extraction.
But in case of death, you reappear… in zombie form. A twist that turns your former allies into targets.

The mechanics are strongly reminiscent of the “Infected” or “Zombie Panic” modes seen in the classics of the genre, but Ravenous Horde pushes the concept much further with:

  • A progression system (XP, levels, unlocking cosmetics)
  • More than 50 customizable assets for hunters and zombies
  • Of the custom zombies which preserve your outfits… in a decomposed state

Customization and game depth

The game isn’t just about a catchy concept. Each player can:

  • Choosing perks adapted to his style of play: tank, support, sniper…
  • Unlock new equipment to refine its approach
  • Change your appearanceincluding zombie side (with damaged and bloody clothes)

Even zombies can become strategic: some explode on death, others throw infected limbs, and some take damage better.

An independent FPS to follow closely

If Ravenous Horde remains on the fringes of blockbusters of the genre, its mixture of frenetic action, forced cooperation and constant reversal has everything to seduce:

  • 🧠 Well thought out mechanics
  • 🎯 Efficient execution
  • 💸 A free model, without aggressive microtransactions

All served in an inspired visual atmosphere, between classic post-apo and permanent nervous tension.
