Since its release, Stardew Valley has cultivated a unique universe, full of charm… but also gray areas. Why are all cows female? Where do villagers go to the toilet? Who put Krobus on the calendar? These questions, funny or absurd, have been running through players’ heads for a long time. A fan decided to provide a concrete answer with a mod that is as hilarious as it is well thought out.
A mod that takes mysteries seriously… or almost
Baptized Stardew Valley Explainedthis mod signed Dolphin Is Not a Fish offers five new narrative events. Each of them is designed to answer a riddle in the game that remains without an official explanation. The developers describe their creation this way on the Nexus Mods page: “How can your cows get pregnant if they’re all female? Where are the villagers’ toilets? Who put Krobus’ name on the calendar?”
To unlock these events, you must fulfill specific conditions in the game. For example, to discover the secret location of the village toilet, you must reach eight hearts of friendship with Evelyn. A mechanic faithful to the spirit of the game, while adding a touch of meta humor.
According to its creator, this mod is aimed as much at those who want to deepen their immersion in Stardew Valley as at those looking for a link to send “to an idiot on social networks”. As the mod page summarizes: “This mod is for you! Get out of ignorance! Stardew Valley Explained will explain all kinds of things that never really needed explanations!”
An initiative welcomed in a context of waiting
This mod comes at the right time, as the community eagerly awaits the next official update of the game. Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, creator of Stardew Valley, has confirmed that a version 1.7 is in preparation, without yet revealing the details. These updates are often very rich, players expect substantial content.
For his part, Dolphin Is Not a Fish stay tuned to players to enrich your mod: “If you have any other questions you would like answered, please feel free to ask in the comments section.”
While waiting for the official update to arrive, this mod offers an original way, full of derision and tenderness, to dive back into the world of Pelican Town with a fresh perspective.
