It’s only a few days away from launch, but Black Ops 7 is already starting to make its way onto hard drives. And to everyone’s surprise, Activision this time seems to have heard the recurring complaints from players: the weight of the game would be much lighter than expected.
A first estimate, relayed by PlayStation Game Size, already gives valuable information for owners of PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. From November 9 at 10 a.m. PTit will be possible to preload Black Ops 7either five days before its official release. A welcome anticipation, especially for those whose bandwidth or disk space is limited.
A featherweight compared to the old opuses
Black Ops 7 will offer three distinct modules at launch: the single-player campaign, multiplayer and a Zombies mode. And their respective sizes should delight storage-conscious gamers.
- Single player campaign : 11.9 GB
- Multiplayer : 11.6 GB
- Zombies : 320 MB only
Even if these are currently the files identified on PS4, it is very likely that these figures are similar on PS5 and Xbox Series. We are therefore very far from the cumulative 150 GB of certain previous episodes. Another good point: players will be able to choose which modules to install, thus avoiding unnecessary downloads.
A welcome optimization before the storm
With Warzone installed, and other demanding titles on console SSDs, free space management becomes a crucial issue. This is why this division of content, associated with a reduced size, is seen as a real relief.
Especially since season 1 of Black Ops 7 already promises a busy roadmap, with new maps, weapons and operators. Not to mention the frequent updates which increase the files over time.
If you want to be ready on the big day, so mark the date of November 9 in your calendar. This is when you can start preloading and make sure you don’t miss a second of the first matches.
