Grand Theft Auto fans can’t wait any longer. Since the release of the second trailer in December 2023, Rockstar Games has remained strangely silent around GTA 6, its next blockbuster scheduled for May 2026. But a few months before its release, a new clue is shaking the community: the studio’s official website has just been updated, and GTA 6 is now featured on the home page.
The detail was spotted by Internet users on Reddit, always on the lookout for the slightest change. At first glance, this emphasis may seem trivial. But for many, it marks the start of a new phase of communication. Rockstar could well have a third trailer in the works, ready to be unveiled to boost media and public interest as the end-of-year holidays approach.
Is Rockstar preparing an announcement to close out 2025?
The timing would not be trivial. Historically, Rockstar likes to surprise at the end of the year. Trailer 2 was released in December 2023, and met with colossal success. So much so that many are hoping for a similar operation for this month of December 2025. This strategy would make it possible to capitalize on the holiday period, when players’ attention is at its peak.
Nothing has yet been officially confirmed, but the studio’s past habits and the recent update of the site leave little room for doubt. Rockstar could release a trailer at any time, as it has done before, without notice. And seven months before the announced release, the wait is becoming more and more feverish among fans.
A release still planned for May 2026
The only certainty at the moment: GTA 6 is indeed expected for May 26, 2026. And you will absolutely need to have a next-gen console to play it, since the game will only be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Until then, fans have no choice but to scrutinize every detail, every pixel of the Rockstar site, in the hope of an upcoming reveal. Because in the world of Grand Theft Auto, any clue is potentially explosive.
