For the past week, a mod for Cyberpunk 2077 has been causing a sensation among PC players. Baptized Say Hi Choomit has already been downloaded more than 20,000 times on Nexus Mods. The objective? Finally make V and the NPCs more alive, by introducing contextual greetings, which vary depending on the time and the character encountered.
Created by modder S1nonimSay Hi Choom was designed to address a frustration widely shared among fans. “Did you find it unusual that when they visit characters, they remain silent, just like V?”, asks the mod page. An absence of dialogue considered incoherent in a world as rich and vibrant as that of Night City.
A simple mod that changes everything in immersion
By adding friendly, personalized greetings between V and other characters, this mod breathes a whole new dynamic into interactions. “This mod fixes this issue and brings NPCs and V to life,” its description states. It is even recommended to combine it with other interaction mods like Say Something Damn Itto maximize the fluidity of dialogues.
Each greeting is random, avoiding repetition, and can include contextual details. For example, when visiting a key NPC like Judy, Panam, or Viktor, V can now say their name. Something to delight fans who favor ultra-immersive games.
The Night City characters finally recognize you
The magic of Say Hi Choom works particularly with the game’s most beloved characters. Misty, River, Regina, Wakako and Padre now react to your arrival like real acquaintances. “It’s a little different, but it reminds me how much I like to spam greetings in RDR2 when I see strangers,” commented one wowed player.
In the comments section of Nexus Mods, praise is pouring out. “Hi, great moderator! Absolutely essential for all fans of immersion! Excellent moderator, well done and keep it up!”, wrote another user, highlighting the essential contribution of this mod to the gaming experience.
Free, light, compatible with many other additions, Say Hi Choom is not just a gadget: it gives a voice to your character and a soul to his encounters. Enough to inspire CD Projekt RED for the development of the long-awaited sequel.
