After Netflix originally announced the “East Blue” saga of “One Piece” for September 2025, there is now a new date for the release – and at the same time a big innovation. We summarize.
From November 15, 2025
On November 15, 2025, Netflix will add the first 16 episodes of the “East Blue” saga of “One Piece” in the revised HD remaster version to its offering. According to NinotakuTV, a completely new German dubbing was created for this version, which also includes the speakers from the original version.
For example, Daniel Hülse continues to voice Luffy, Uwe Thomsen can be heard as Zorro, Stephanie Kellner slips back into the role of Nami, Hubertus von Lerchenfeld voices Sanji, Simone Brahmann lends her voice to Nico Robin and Martin Halm takes on the character Tony Tony Chopper.
The reason for the new dubbing was not stated, but there are said to be some adjustments to certain terms in the new version. What this is about is still unclear at the moment.
Currently, Netflix only makes the “Egghead” arc of “One Piece” available for streaming in the original sound with subtitles. The first German language version is currently available exclusively on DVD and Blu-ray and can be seen on television on ProSieben MAXX, but will soon also be available on the streaming service ADN.
A remake of the entire series, which will be released exclusively on Netflix under the title “The One Piece,” is in the works, but has no date yet.
