Sony is trying to soften the recent rise in prices of its consoles with a well-thought-out marketing gesture: three months of PlayStation Plus Premium offered with any purchase of PS5 or PS5 Pro. A limited-time operation, valid for new consoles activated between October 10 and 21, 2025.
No need for a code or specific reseller. The offer applies automatically during initial setup, provided you select the Premium option at the time of installation.
Conditions to respect to benefit from the 3 free months
Concretely, only new Premium subscribers can activate the offer. If you opt for the Essential or Extra plans when starting out, you’re missing out. It is therefore crucial to choose “Premium” during the configuration of the network connected console.
Once the PS5 is activated, beneficiaries will receive an activation link within five days. This link is valid until October 30. You must therefore act quickly: the console must be installed before October 21 and the offer activated before the end of the month.
Holders of a current subscription (Essential or Extra) will see their duration converted to Premium, with the three months offered as a bonus. The subscription will then automatically renew according to the original period unless you deactivate this option in the account settings.
An offer that comes at the right time after the price rise
Since August, PS5s have all increased by $50. The offer applies to all available models: 825 GB digital edition at $499, 1 TB disk version at $549, PS5 Pro at $749, and even refurbished consoles at $399.
A way for Sony to rebalance things before the end of year holidays, when other promotions are expected soon.
In addition, the PlayStation Plus Premium subscription is enriched in October with highly anticipated games, such as Yakuza: Like a Dragonthe remake of Silent Hill 2, Tekken 3 or the remake ofUntil Dawn. Essential subscribers will have access to Alan Wake 2, Goat Simulator 3 And Cocoon. Enough to give weight to this temporary offer, especially if you had planned to upgrade to the PS5.
