A game that lacks bite
Between expectations that were too high and the joy of seeing the project released in any possible form, there were a lot of preconceptions about this Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. Even ignoring all that, it turns out that The Chinese Room and Paradox’s RPG is having trouble convincing a good portion of the press. The game is currently getting an OpenCritic score of 66, and a Metacritic score of 67 on PC and 63 on PS5 at the time of writing.
Many tests mention the absence of real ambitions for the sequel to a very popular game, like at GameSpot which regrets this, even if the game makes up for it in terms of its story and its characters. Some point out the absence of many RPG mechanics, like Push Square: “ Its best qualities are always short-lived, buried deep beneath the frustrations of nonexistent RPG elements “. In short, there seem to be some good criticisms of the story we are being told, but technical problems and other elements would spoil the picture.
We will tell you more very soon, given that our test is coming in a few days. We still need a few hours of gameplay to make a definitive decision on it, but be sure that our opinion is coming.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will be released on October 21 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
