Despite announcing its multiplayer game, Quantic Dream promises it’s still working on Star Wars Eclipse

I promise, the game is still alive

Unveiled almost four years ago, Star Wars Eclipse has not given any sign of life since its first video, except when we learned of certain departures in the team. Nothing to reassure about the state of the project therefore, and seeing Quantic Dream developing another game in parallel is cause for concern. David Cage knows this, and that’s why he sent a word about Star Wars Eclipse when announcing the studio’s multiplayer project. He simply states:

Obviously, development on Star Wars Eclipse continues, and we look forward to showing you more in the future. »

We’re not going to lie, we’ve seen more reassuring than this brief message, which doesn’t say much about the state of the game today. In addition, seeing a studio known for its single-player games venturing into the field of multiplayer gaming can be scary, if the failure of the latter leads to serious financial consequences for Quantic Dream. Even more so in a period where NetEase, which now owns 100% of the studio, is not afraid of making big cuts within its Western studios. But let’s not sell the bear’s skin before we have killed it, and hope that Star Wars Eclipse eventually sees the light of day. When, that’s another question.
