This new free game is making a splash on Steam just before Halloween

The leaves are falling, the blankets are coming out, and the desire for thrills is being felt: Halloween is fast approaching. On this occasion, Steam is offering an unexpected gem, completely free, which will appeal to fans of cozy ambient games and gentle terror. His name? Tiny Terrors. Developed by the independent studio Shiromi and edited by Ghost Coast Laboratorythis little gem has everything to please this October season.

Available on PC via Steam, this hand-drawn style game is reminiscent of retro titles from the 1990s. Since its release, it has already garnered 16 user reviews on the platform – all 100% positive. A real surprise favorite.

Simple but endearing gameplay, for a gentle thrill

Tiny Terrors doesn’t claim to reinvent the genre, but it gets it right. This is a 2D action game seen from above in which you play as a little ghost. The objective? Collect candy while avoiding supernatural creatures called “Terrors”. On its Steam page, the synopsis is clear: “Tiny Terrors is a casual 2D top-down action game where you control a tiny ghost and collect candy while avoiding the Terrors that appear on the field.”

The atmosphere is established from the start, thanks to a well-found narrative touch: “On Halloween night, a lonely ghost child encounters a mysterious jack-o-lantern bucket… Fill it with candy until it’s full!”

All in all, it’s a short but engaging game, halfway between a nostalgic stroll and a Halloween mini-challenge. A gentle way to get into the mood without jumping every ten seconds.

Players won over by its visual charm and atmosphere

The artistic direction has nothing to do with it. Player comments highlight the game’s appeal, particularly its graphics and touching simplicity. One of them writes: “I love the design and the cute little ghost.”

Another, visibly under the spell, adds: “Super cute and perfect for Halloween! I would love to have a guide to the hidden achievements.”

And in terms of staging, the animations hit the mark: “The intro and ending cutscenes are really nice. Overall, it’s a cute and short game. Give it a try.”

In other words, Tiny Terrors is not just a good free plan: it is a concentrate of macabre sweetness, ideal for getting in the mood without breaking the bank or trembling with fear. The game is available to download now on Steam, for all PC users.
