If you were waiting for the Black Friday offers to treat yourself to Battlefield 6, good news: the promotions have started earlier than expected. The Electronic Arts title already benefits from a 16% off on Amazoni.e. a price reduced to £58.99 instead of £69.99, on PS5, Xbox Series X and PC.
The offer comes less than ten days after the game’s release, on October 10, 2025, a release marked by a back to basics which seems to delight fans of the franchise. The last episode, Battlefield 2042, left a bitter taste for many players. This time, critics welcome a real revival.
Critical and commercial success for Battlefield 6
Deemed “this year’s killer FPS” by GAMINGbible, Battlefield 6 earned a rating of 8/10 thanks to its well-thought-out maps, smooth pacing and excellent balance between classes. The site even evokes a return to the “golden age” of the franchise.
The launch lived up to these accolades: 700,000 simultaneous players were listed on Steam from day one, making Battlefield 6 the best start ever for an EA game on the platform. An impressive performance which reflects the anticipation surrounding this new opus.
But beyond the numbers, what particularly excites fans is the return of the single player campaign modean element absent in Battlefield 2042 and highly requested by the community.
“The community said they missed something”
Fasahat Salim, design director at Criterion Games, spoke earlier this year about this strong editorial choice. He said: “I think it was no secret that people were missing the countryside.”
As a gamer himself, he explains fans’ attachment to the mode: “Thinking of myself as a gamer, because I’m a Battlefield fan first and foremost, I always play the campaign.”
He goes on to describe how the single-player mode now fits into the overall game universe: “I think we’ve finally managed to get the campaign back to the basics of some of the levels that you’ll experience in multiplayer. It’s an element that adds a little bit of depth to these environments, these large-scale battlefields that we’ve created: giving context to why you’re there.”
He concluded: “Without that context, I think the community said they missed something. We really listened to what people had to say, and I think people will be really excited about what we’re planning.”
Battlefield 6 therefore promises to be a real turning point for the series, combining modernity, a return to the classics and a clear commitment to player expectations. And with a reduction already online even before the Black Friday sales, it’s hard to resist.
