Here’s why the excellent beat’em up won’t be released on Xbox

A question of priorities

Released a few days ago on PC, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch, Absolute was able to convince critics and the public. Unfortunately, no Xbox version appears to be on the horizon, for a title that many already saw themselves playing through Xbox Game Pass. The team that developed the game responded to questions regarding the lack of such a release, explaining via Discord that due to human and financial resources, priorities have been established, to the detriment of Xbox consoles :

The team behind Absolum is about as small as our in-game resistance movement [pour décrire le groupe des personnages du jeu]. Given its size (as with all similar titles), there are a few things we need to prioritize. It’s pretty rare that we release a game on ALL platforms, and in this case, Xbox just wasn’t a priority, and it’s not planned for THIS game. »

In other words, Dotemu and company do not intend to abandon the Xbox in general, but to Absolutethe choice was made to skip such a port. However, the door seems open for a possible release on Xbox, one day, if the conditions arise.
