A third Mortal Kombat film has already been announced, even before the release of the second

Overconfidence?

It was during New York Comic-Con that the news broke. Deadline reports that the production company New Line is already preparing to write a third feature film Mortal Kombatstill with Jeremy Slate at the helmas he said on stage (comments taken from an IGN video):

Our friends at New Line and Warner Bros. are so happy with this [deuxième] movie, they’re so excited, they’re so convinced that there’s a giant fan base waiting for it, that they’ve already hired me to start writing the next part. »

However, we don’t know anything more about this third film, even just its casting, given that we don’t even know who will die or survive in the second film. Mortal Kombat. Of course, this end of the “trilogy” will only see the light of day if the next film is a box office success, or at least if it manages to avoid an industrial disaster.
