Announced three years ago as part of the franchise’s great return silent Hillthe mysterious Townfall could finally see the light of day. According to the Biohazard Ultimate website, the game would be scheduled for March 26, 2026although this information has not yet been confirmed by Konami. However, the Japanese publisher should speak very soon: a new edition of the Silent Hill Transmission would be planned before the end of October.
This meeting highly anticipated by fans could lift the veil on several projects linked to the saga, including this enigmatic spin-off, but also the much speculated Silent Hill Remake. According to Biohazard Ultimate, “Silent Hill: Townfall, the next chapter in the ongoing revival of Konami’s psychological horror franchise, is scheduled to launch on March 26, 2026.” The site also mentions the release of a first trailer for the remake, but with caution: “Interestingly, Biohazard Ultimate also claims that we will see the first trailer for Silent Hill Remake during this event, although this seems a little uncertain given that the game has only just entered production.”
A narrative spin-off without combat, signed Annapurna and No Code
Few concrete elements have filtered out on the content of Silent Hill: Townfall. The game was revealed in October 2022, during a previous Konami Transmission. Since then, the publisher’s radio silence has contributed to maintaining a climate of mystery around the project. “The game having been announced three years ago during Konami’s Silent Hill Transmission announcing the return of the franchise.”
Developed by Screen Burn Interactive (ex-No Code), in collaboration with Annapurna Interactivethe title moves away from the traditional mechanics of the saga. “In development at Screen Burn Interactive (formerly No Code) and Annapurna Interactive, it presents itself as a derivative title favoring atmospheric storytelling while avoiding traditional combat.” This radical bias could appeal to fans of immersive and introspective experiences, like what was proposed Stories Untoldthe studio’s previous project.
The famous leaker Dusk Golem, used to revelations on the horror scene, had already mentioned a particular format for this new opus. As early as 2022, it indicated that “Silent Hill Townfall should be part of an anthology series”, without going into details.
A heavy atmosphere, a new format, rising expectations
With its purely narrative orientation and heavy atmosphere, Townfall seems to want to reconnect with the psychological roots of the franchise, while paving the way for a new form of storytelling. No gameplay has yet been revealed, but expectations are high around the next Silent Hill event, supposed to confirm – or not – the release in March 2026.
The bet is risky but ambitious for Konami, which is multiplying projects linked to its cult license. If the remake’s trailer shows well this month, the joint announcement with Townfall could breathe new life into the series, after years of waiting.
