While new Pokémon TCG expansions often sell out within hours, Walmart has decided to play a strategic card. From October 9 at 7 a.m. PTWalmart+ subscribers will have exclusive access to the Fantastic Flames collectionhighly anticipated by fans. A significant advantage for those hoping to avoid the rush on these popular products.
The operation is part of the event Collector Con hosted by Walmart, which offers exclusive deals on many pop culture-related items. For the Pokémon TCG, this means early access to several flagship products, while stocks last.
What products will be available from October 9?
Walmart+ subscribers will be able to order several items from the Flames Fantastiques series when pre-orders open, including:
- THE Fantastic Flames Elite Trainer Box
- THE booster packs from the same series
- THE blister pack of three boosters
- There collection of 3 technical stickers from Flame White Scarlet and Violet
This launch particularly highlights Mega Charizardwho is already establishing himself as the star of this new wave.
But be careful: the offer is reserved for paid Walmart+ subscribers. Those who are just taking advantage of the free trial will not be able to access this exclusive sale.
Why this early access is a game changer for collectors
In recent years, the craze surrounding Pokémon cards has reached new heights. Between online shortages, queues in front of stores and resale at high prices by speculators, obtaining the new boxes at public price has become a real challenge. One subscriber sums up the general state of mind well: “If there’s a box I really want, I’m willing to give it a try, at least for a month. $13 is still less than what the resellers are asking.”
Walmart+’s strategy comes at a time when other brands, such as GameStop, have already suspended their pre-orders for certain series, and that official Pokémon centers have canceled their in-store sales for security reasons, facing the crowds.
Walmart+ subscription, billed $12.95 per month (Or $98 per year), offers other benefits like free delivery. But for Pokémon enthusiasts, it’s this early access that makes all the difference.
And that may just be the beginning: Walmart is planning more exclusive Black Friday sales, where Pokémon cards could once again steal the show.
