The celebrations for the 25th anniversary of “Naruto” continue spectacularly, as the Japanese toy manufacturer Bandai has announced a new trading card game based on the popular franchise. We summarize the first details.
Release planned for 2027
The new “Naruto Card Game” is expected to be released worldwide over the next year and is aimed primarily at players who prefer strategic duels and competitive card games.
Initial information about the game system, card designs, and long-term release strategy will be revealed on July 29, 2026.
At Gen Con 2026 in Indianapolis from July 30 to August 2, 2026, visitors can get to know the game mechanics in special tutorial rounds and test them with specially developed demo decks. In addition, exclusive promo cards and other collectibles are available there.
More projects planned
Accompanying the announcement, a first key visual with Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, a teaser trailer and a special illustration by “Naruto” creator Masashi Kishimoto were released.
The mangaka was excited that the “Naruto” universe continues to grow. He also expressed the hope that the trading cards will not only find their way to the fans, but also take a place in their hearts.
The card game is one of a number of projects that are being implemented as part of the 25th anniversary of “Naruto”. Just a few months ago it was announced that a live-action adaptation of the popular series was still being worked on.
