To celebrate the current anime broadcasts, the fantasy series “Witch Hat Atelier” and “Ascendance of a Bookworm” have received a special crossover visual. We summarize below.
Coco and Rozemyne meet
The new illustration motif, which you can see at the bottom of the article as usual, shows the protagonists Coco from “Witch Hat Atelier” and Rozemyne from “Ascendance of a Bookworm” together with their mentors Qifrey and Ferdinand.
The cooperation starts shortly before the end of the current TV broadcasts of both anime series. Those responsible held out the prospect of further joint projects, which will be announced at a later date.
Accompanying the release of the visual was a detailed conversation between creators Kamome Shirahama (“Witch Hat Atelier”) and Miya Kazuki (“Ascendance of a Bookworm”), in which the two creatives discussed their ongoing anime adaptations and their mutual appreciation.
Authors talk about their works
Shirahama particularly praised the emotional storytelling of “Ascendance of a Bookworm,” while Kazuki emphasized the elaborate implementation of the extremely detailed drawings and the magic system of “Witch Hat Atelier.”
The two authors also joked about a possible meeting between their characters. In their opinion, Coco and Rozemyne would quickly become friends, while Qifrey and Ferdinand would initially treat each other with caution and would prefer not to reveal their secrets.
The anime adaptations of the two works are currently running in simulcast on Crunchyroll as part of the spring 2026 season.
