29. “Detective Conan” movie continues its success in Japan

The current “Detective Conan” film continues its success in Japan several weeks after its theatrical release. We summarize below.

Still in the top 5

In the official Japanese cinema charts, “Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway” once again secured fourth place last weekend, as it did the previous week. This is also the eighth week the film has been in the top five.

Between May 29th and 31st, 2026 alone, the film grossed around 220 million yen (around 1.2 million euros) and attracted a further 144,000 visitors to the cinemas.

Overall, box office revenue after 52 days amounts to around 12.76 billion yen (around 68.6 million euros) with over 8.6 million tickets sold. With this result, the latest screen offshoot currently occupies 33rd place in the list of the most successful films of all time in Japan.

Despite the ongoing success, the current box office result is still slightly below the level of its predecessor “The Flashback of the One-Eyed Man”, which had already grossed around 13.7 billion yen at the same time.

“Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway” opened in Japanese cinemas on April 18, 2026. A date for Germany is still pending.
