»Sword Art Online« brings the fictional Yuna concert into reality

The “Sword Art Online” franchise has released a special event that follows the plot of the first original movie and deliberately plays with its own timeline. We summarize below.

Between film and reality

On April 29, 2026, the “Yuna First Live” event was published on Aniplex’s official YouTube channel – with a special feature: the date corresponds exactly to the concert day in the film “Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale”, which means that the fictional performance of the story has now been transferred to the real world.

As in the original film, the musical focus is once again on the character Yuna with her well-known songs such as “Ubiquitous dB” and “longing”. You can watch the ten-minute event as usual below these lines.

The anime adaptation of “Sword Art Online” currently includes four series seasons, the original film “Ordinal Scale” and two “Progressive” films. Another film titled “Unanswered//butterfly: Sword Art Online” will be released on July 10, 2026 along with the video game “Sword Art Online: Echoes of Aincrad”. In addition, there will be new details about another original film project in July 2026.
