GTA 6: the duration of the scenario has leaked and it is already impressing players

A highly commented leak promises a gigantic single-player campaign for GTA 6. According to several insiders, the next juggernaut of Rockstar Games would offer a significantly longer story mode than GTA 5 Or Red Dead Redemption 2to the point of frightening as much as it makes you dream.

In a context where open worlds easily exceed 100 hours of play, the question of the duration of the game’s scenario Grand Theft Auto VI becomes central. And one leak in particular, relayed everywhere, puts forward a precise figure which ignites the powder.

GTA 6: a leak promises a 75-hour story mode, record in sight?

At the origin of the rumor, a post from leaker remiremus_ taken up by the “GTA 6 Updates” account on X, detailed by Peaches and GTA 6 France. It evokes a prologue of approximately 2 hours, followed by five chapters for a total of 75 hours of main campaignwith a finale located outside the United States. The leak also talks about nearly 1,000 dynamic events and hundreds of ancillary activities to densify the world of Leonida, fictional version of Florida.

None of this has been confirmed by Rockstar Gamesfaithful to its usual silence on lifespans. Other sources relayed by GTA6 News or GameWave, relying in particular on the leaker GameRoll, do mention a story in five chapters, but rather estimate a duration of 40 to 50 hours. GTA6 News also judges that 75 hours of “pure storyline” does not “really hold up” in light of the studio’s precedents.

Duration of the GTA 6 scenario: why do so many hours make players dream?

To measure the extent of the rumor, all you have to do is compare. According to data cited by Gamerant and HowLongToBeat, the main story of GTA 5 takes approximately 30 to 35 hours, compared to 50 to 60 hours for Red Dead Redemption 2. A 75-hour campaign would therefore place GTA 6 far above anything Rockstar has done solo so far.

On Reddit, many players are asking for more. User Zylva_ sums up this mindset, as quoted by Gamerant: “As long as possible…I really wish it took hundreds of hours to explore and complete every single thing in the game…this is a game that can’t be rushed.” Others, like KamoY92, found that “GTA 5’s story seemed so short that it really disappointed me.” For them, an XXL campaign would fit the ambition of what Rockstar describes as “the biggest game launch in history”.

How many hours will it really take to finish GTA 6, and should we worry about filler?

Faced with the hype, part of the community remains cautious. User Fearix_1 tempers this: “It depends on the story itself.” GTA6 News points out that a main storyline of 40 to 50 hours, enriched by numerous side quests, would be more consistent with the studio’s philosophy. Beyond that, the risk would be to multiply “stop-gap” missions to the detriment of rhythm.

Concretely, if GTA 6 is around 40 to 50 hours for the scenario, it will easily take 80 to 120 hours to take full advantage of the side activities, and more than 150 hours to aim for 100 percent. The famous 75 hour mark could ultimately correspond to a mixture of main story and almost obligatory content, but this remains speculative as long as Rockstar does not express itself.

On the networks, some are talking about an “epic narrative length” and are already joking like “I won’t sleep for 4 days” if the leak is confirmed, as reported by IndiaTimes. Others fear never seeing the credits. One thing is certain: the more the rumor grows, the more the pressure mounts on Rockstar, who will have to find the balance between duration, intensity of the missions and the desire to return to Vice City night after evening.
