The series should still be ordered
A new article published on the site The Ankler returns to the series Mass Effect by evoking more broadly the first months of Peter Friedlander at the head of the TV and films division of Amazon, in post since last October. What interests us here is what is happening around the adaptation of the adventures of Commander Shepard, and obviously, things are not progressing as well as expected.
According to the article, Friedlander reportedly requested a rewrite of the series Mass Effectso that it is more “ attractive to the non-gaming public »without us really knowing what this implies. Who knows if this indicates that it was necessary to reduce the references to the games to avoid pushing the fan service too much and leaving newbies aside. Without the context and the original text, it’s hard to know whether this is a bad thing or not. In any case, we understand why Amazon is cautious here given that a series Mass Effect must require a hell of a budget, and Prime Video knows a thing or two about series that are far too expensive to produce and unprofitable.
Despite this rewriting, the series is about to be commissioned, which means that it should still see the light of day in the more or less near future.
