Former Halo artistic director denounces acts of harassment, blacklisting and fraud at Halo Studios

Microsoft is also in the crosshairs

Glenn Israel returned to the reasons for his departure in a long LinkedIn post which pulls no punches and denounces everything that happens behind the scenes, attacking both Halo Studios and Microsoft. For example, he states having witnessed wrongdoing by studio executives, with a list as long as your arm :

Between January 2024 and June 2025, I directly witnessed or personally experienced numerous unethical and/or illegal acts committed by Halo Studios executives, including (but not limited to) blacklisting, fraud, widespread favoritism/cronyism (in hiring and career advancement), and multiple harassment campaigns designed to provoke the constructive dismissal of “undesirable” employees when they had no business being involved. reproach. »

Serious accusations that don’t stop there. He says he filed several complaints with Microsoft human resources to denounce this behavior, but indicates that he received threats of reprisals in response while a key executive allegedly wanted to stifle the investigation.

He was then the victim of harassment himself in order to ensure that his dismissal was justified, and he would never have succeeded in winning his case by requesting investigations from Microsoft. He goes further to indicate that Microsoft often uses waves of layoffs to fire employees who complain like him :

Microsoft has a habit of systematically resorting to dismissals, or even exploiting them, to get rid of employees who have filed legitimate and effective complaints, thus masking these acts of retaliation under a “commercial justification”. Organizations and investigations within Microsoft’s HR department are deliberately hidden to conceal responsibilities and enable plausible deniability. […] I know our industry is going through an unprecedented crisis, but out of concern for the public interest, I cannot recommend that you apply for this job or stay there if you have another option. Your efforts and expertise are not respected. Your remuneration is insufficient. If you refuse to play political games, your career will not progress; if you object, you will be forced to leave. I have proof: you are not safe. »

Glenn Israel also returns to the management of Halo: Campaign Evolvedwhich he describes as “ catastrophic » :

In August 2025, the disastrous handling of Halo Campaign Evolved allowed senior officials at Halo Studios to temporarily reassign the art team from my unannounced project and falsely label my role as “redundant”, an obvious act of retaliation. »

Microsoft has not yet wanted to respond to these accusations, other than to tell Windows Central that the company takes this type of matter seriously. In any case, they come in addition to other testimonies from ex-members of 343 Industries, which date back to 2023 and the management of Halo Infinite.
