A new developer diary takes a video look at the evolution of gameplay

Rethinking combat brings changes at every level

Remedy artists explain to us here everything that changes on the gameplay side in Control Resonantwhich will be entitled to an RPG aspect with quite a few skill trees to evolve your protean weapon as you wish. And the studio says it has listened to its audience by integrating multiple save slots this time, allowing you to test several different builds if you wish. You can then have fun in an activity well known to those who completed the first Controlthe SHÜM, an arcade machine which gives access to tough challenges.

Since the gameplay changes, the level design must also evolve, and we understand how much of a challenge this was for Remedy. In this new episode, no zone restricting access to combat unlike the first opus, which offers more freedom of approach. And who says a game more focused on action and confrontations, also says bestiary which had to be enriched, with creatures of various shapes, instead of always coming across armed humans.

Control Resonant is still due out later this year on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
