Crimson Desert players now have something to restart their adventure. On March 30, 2026, Pearl Abyss deployed a major update called 1.01.00, bringing both new content and a long series of technical improvements.
On the program, five new mounts, a new item to facilitate progression and numerous gameplay optimizations. A dense update, which affects both the content and the overall performance of the game.
Crimson Desert 1.01.00, five mounts and a new key item
The most visible new feature concerns the addition of five new mounts. They can be unlocked by fulfilling certain conditions, adding a new dimension to exploring the world of Pywel. Another important addition: the Refinement Token. This item allows you to upgrade equipment up to level 4 without consuming additional materials, which directly changes players’ progress.
The patch also introduces several practical features, such as the ability to instantly craft items or quickly transfer your inventory to storage space. These adjustments aim to make everyday actions more fluid.
Smoother and better balanced gameplay
Beyond the content, this update significantly improves handling. Movement, whether on foot or on horseback, becomes more fluid, while certain mechanics are rebalanced. The flight system has been reworked, with reduced stamina consumption and more reliable activation. Aerial skills have also been adjusted to avoid some abuse while still retaining their interest.
Interactions with NPCs become more intuitive, and several adjustments have been made to combat, including skills, enemies and general in-game behavior.
Improved performance, especially on PS5
On the technical side, Crimson Desert benefits from notable improvements. Loading times have been reduced, especially when fast traveling and after character death. The PlayStation 5 version introduces a fixed 4K output option, providing a sharper image and a more stable viewing experience. This option is enabled by default, with the possibility of disabling it according to preferences.
Fixes have also been made to improve general stability, reduce framerate drops, and fix various bugs affecting the experience.
An update that improves the overall experience
The interface has also been reworked. The menu, minimap and notifications now offer more readability and information, making it easier to progress in the game. Numerous corrections complete the package, affecting quests as well as interactions, objects and even the game’s internal systems.
With this update 1.01.00, Crimson Desert continues to refine its experience, combining content additions and technical adjustments to strengthen the overall consistency of the game.
