Resident Evil Requiem receives a major update with a highly anticipated mode

The Resident Evil Requiem universe continues to expand. Deployed on March 27 on PC and consoles, this new update introduces a highly requested feature, while making several adjustments to the game.

Behind this development, Capcom is not content with a simple cosmetic addition. Photo mode, now accessible directly from the pause menu, opens up new possibilities for players wishing to capture their most memorable moments.

Resident Evil Requiem, a complete and customizable photo mode

The new photo mode is more than just a capture tool. It offers a wide range of adjustments allowing you to transform each scene into a sophisticated image.

  • The field of vision
  • Foreground and background blur
  • Focus distance
  • The expressions and poses of the characters
  • Brightness and contrast

Added to this are filters, frames and visual effects such as vignetting or chromatic aberration. This wealth of parameters allows you to create very precise shots, whether to immortalize an intense moment or explore the aesthetics of the game from a new angle.

Visual and technical improvements in this update

Beyond photo mode, the update also brings several fixes and adjustments. Certain cutscenes now benefit from facial expressions “adjusted to better convey emotions”, reinforcing narrative immersion. Other improvements concern:

  • Fixing blocking bugs
  • Gameplay optimization
  • PC gaming stability

Issues with GPU drivers have also been fixed, as well as crashes in certain situations.

Additional content already planned in the coming weeks

This update only marks one step. Capcom is already preparing the sequel with a story expansion and a new game mode planned for May. Director Koshi Nakanishi gave a preview of what awaits players: “In this story” “we will explore the Requiem universe in more depth. We are working hard on it. It will take time, so we thank you for your patience and hope you look forward to it. Thank you again for your support!” These announcements suggest a gradual enrichment of the game, with in particular the hope of seeing emblematic figures like Ada Wong appear.

An evolution that is part of Capcom’s strategy

With this update, Capcom confirms its desire to bring Resident Evil Requiem to life over time. The addition of photo mode, combined with technical improvements and upcoming content, shows a strategy geared towards long-term player engagement. This type of tracking is a reminder of the growing importance of post-launch updates in the gaming industry, where the experience continues to evolve well after the initial release.
