Forza Horizon 6: minimum, 4K, ray tracing… all PC configurations revealed, is your machine ready?

Forza Horizon 6 hasn’t even started its engines yet a question is already burning on players’ lips: is your PC ready for the race? A few weeks before its release scheduled for May 19, 2026, Playground Games and Xbox have just lifted the veil on the official configurations, from the minimum to extreme mode with ray tracing.

Behind this highly anticipated announcement, one observation immediately emerges: the new opus promises a visual slap in the face, but you will need a solid machine to take full advantage of it. Between cutting-edge graphics technologies and increased technical ambitions, Forza Horizon 6 reaches a milestone.

Forza Horizon 6: an already demanding minimum PC configuration

From the first specifications, the tone is set. To run the game at 1080p with low settings and 60 FPS, you will need at least an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor, accompanied by 16 GB of RAM and a graphics card such as a GTX 1650 or an RX 6500 XT.

The SSD is becoming essential, confirming a trend already well established in recent games. Windows 10 or 11 (version 22H2 minimum) is also required for compatibility.

This base remains relatively accessible for a AAA game, but it hides a more ambitious reality. As the studio explains: “Our team made significant improvements to the custom PC engine that delivered excellent performance in Forza Horizon 5, pushing the boundaries of graphics fidelity and quality.”

Recommended to extreme configurations to exploit the full potential

It is from the recommended configurations that the requirements clearly go up a notch. To play at 1440p at high settings, a Ryzen 5 5600X or i5-12400F will be needed, coupled with an RTX 3060 Ti or equivalent.

But it is especially on “Extreme” configurations that Forza Horizon 6 reveals its ambition. To achieve 4K at 60 FPS, you will need to aim for high-end components like a Ryzen 7 7700X and an RTX 4070 Ti, with 24 GB of RAM.

Finally, the “Extreme RT” mode, with ray tracing activated, pushes the limits even further. This configuration requires up to 32 GB of RAM and next-generation graphics cards like the RTX 5070 Ti, confirming that the game has been designed to take full advantage of modern technologies. At the same time, the title will support Nvidia DLSS 4, AMD FSR 3 and 4 as well as Intel XeSS 2.1, allowing performance to be optimized depending on the hardware used.

An experience also designed for new platforms

Beyond the classic PC, Forza Horizon 6 also opens up to new gaming habits. The title will be compatible with ultra-wide screens, unlimited frame rates and even portable consoles like the Steam Deck or the ASUS ROG Ally. This choice illustrates a clear desire: to offer a flexible experience, capable of adapting to all player profiles, from casual to enthusiast equipped with an ultra high-end machine.
