Resident Evil Requiem is already preparing a story DLC and several new features to come

The launch of a major game no longer really marks the end of its development. Today, studios often continue to expand their titles with updates and downloadable content. Resident Evil Requiem is no exception to this rule.

In a recent communication, the game’s director, Koshi Nakanishi, confirmed that Capcom was already working on several new features intended to enrich the player experience. These additions should allow you to further explore the game world and offer new ways to enjoy it.

A story DLC in preparation

Among the most important announcements is the development of a narrative expansion. This future downloadable content should offer a new portion of scenario which will complete the main plot of the game. For the moment, Capcom remains very discreet regarding the details of this extension.

Some information from sources close to the project, however, suggests that this additional story could feature an iconic character from the series. According to certain rumors relayed by franchise observers, Leon S. Kennedy could be at the center of this extension. However, this remains to be officially confirmed by Capcom. If this information is confirmed, it would be a highly anticipated return for one of the most popular heroes in the Resident Evil universe.

A photo mode to immortalize the horror

In addition to this storyline extension, another addition should delight many players: the arrival of a photo mode. This feature has become very popular in modern games, allowing players to capture their favorite moments and share their images online.

In a game with as elaborate an atmosphere as Resident Evil Requiem, this mode could help highlight the detailed settings and the dark atmosphere of the title. Fans will be able to immortalize certain memorable scenes, but also experiment with camera angles and visual effects. However, Capcom has not yet specified whether this mode will be available for free or integrated into future paid content.

A mysterious mini-game could also be coming

The studio is also working on a mini-game which would enrich the overall content of the title. For the moment, Capcom has not given any official indication on the nature of this additional activity.

However, some players think that it could be the return of the famous mode Mercenariesvery popular in several episodes of the franchise. This mode usually features timed combat challenges in which players must eliminate as many enemies as possible. Even if this hypothesis remains speculative, it would correspond perfectly to the habits of the series.

An already successful launch

Released on February 27, 2026, Resident Evil Requiem had a particularly impressive commercial start. The game sold more than five million copies in less than a weeka result which confirms the enormous popularity of the saga.

Available on several platforms – including PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2 – the title has also received a very positive reception from players and critics. This success probably explains why Capcom wants to continue enriching the experience with new content.

While waiting for the official announcement of these future expansions, fans can already immerse themselves in the main adventure and explore all the secrets of this new episode. One thing seems certain: the universe of Resident Evil Requiem has not yet revealed all its mysteries.
