Organized at the beginning of March, this Live is part of a period where the 2026 calendar is starting to become clearer. And if the spotlight was on house exclusives in recent weeks, independent studios have this time taken all the spotlight.
Blue Prince available immediately on Switch 2
The biggest surprise of the presentation concerns Blue Prince. Voted Independent Game of the Year, the game is coming to Switch 2 today via a shadow drop. This surprise announcement constitutes one of the highlights of the Direct. Without a date announced in advance, the immediate availability reinforces the appeal of Nintendo’s new console. This release also marks a strong signal sent to gamers: the Switch 2 intends to quickly attract fans of ambitious independent productions.
Moonlighter 2 and the highly anticipated sequels
Another notable announcement: Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault will arrive on Switch 2 when it is released in version 1.0 scheduled for 2026. Already available in early access on Steam, the roguelike combining store management and dungeon exploration thus confirms its arrival on Nintendo’s new console.
Among the confirmed games, Mixtape also made its release date official on May 7. This narrative title focused on adolescence will arrive on Switch at the same time as PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. My Little Puppy, an adventure game centered on a dog crossing the afterlife to find his master, will be released on May 29 on Nintendo Switch.
Cozy games and dates to remember
The second half of the Direct highlighted several so-called cozy games as well as varied independent experiences. Grave Seasons, a farming simulation tinged with mystery, is aiming for a summer 2026 release on Switch. inKonbini will arrive on April 30 on Switch and Switch 2. Outbound, a survival game already noticed during a demo festival on PC, will be released on April 23 on both consoles. The highly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong is also among the confirmed releases for March with a date set for March 12.
Shadow drops and Switch 2, a strong signal for 2026
Le Direct did not just announce dates. Several games were made available immediately. Minishoot arrives today on Switch and Switch 2. Rotwood, a Switch 2 console exclusive, is also available immediately. By focusing so many announcements on the Switch 2, Nintendo is showing its desire to make it a key platform for the independent scene in 2026. Even if no major first-party announcement has been made, this Indie World edition will have structured an important part of the upcoming calendar.
