Dozens of great anime titles aired in 2025 – but which ones attracted the most viewers in Japan, according to ABEMA?
The top 5 from ABEMA
The Japanese streaming service ABEMA is one of the largest VoD providers in the country and can therefore provide fairly reliable data on the usage behavior of the Japanese audience. The annual streaming rankings are correspondingly interesting – especially with regard to anime.
The ranking based on the average number of views provides the most useful information, as the titles listed therein do not depend on the number of episodes or the publication date.
“The Apothecary Diaries” has unmistakably dominated in this category, as the popular anime not only takes first place with its second season, but also follows directly behind it with its previous season.
Completing the top 5 are “Bogus Skill Fruitmaster”, “The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows” and “Even Given the Worthless Appraiser Class”.
For completeness, we would like to take a look at the ranking according to the number of total views over the entire year. Here the top 5 are as follows: “Atashin’chi”, “The Apothecary Diaries Season 2”, “Crayon Shin-chan Movies”, “The Apothecary Diaries Season 1” and “Oishinbo”.
Remarkably, “The Apothecary Diaries” is represented in the rankings with its two seasons, which should once again illustrate its extremely high popularity. What do you think of the evaluations? Let us know in the comments!
