In a video with a preview of upcoming works, the Japanese animation studio ufotable also mentioned “Genshin Impact”. We summarize.
Looking to 2026 and the future
It was announced in September 2022 that ufotable (“Demon Slayer”) had entered into a long-term partnership with the successful video game “Genshin Impact” to implement the fantasy world of Teyvat as an animation project.
Since then, several major updates and character releases have been announced with anime shorts, including “The Song in the Embers” and “The Road Not Taken.” Apart from that, things have been pretty quiet about the project so far – until recently.
In a promo video about three and a half minutes long, ufotable first presented its work for 2026 a few days ago and then gave a look at upcoming titles that will probably only appear at a later date.
In the second section of the clip, in addition to the continuation of the “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” film series, “Genshin Impact” with the two main characters Aether and Lumine is shown – which could be interpreted as a possible indication of a full-fledged anime adaptation.
However, there are currently no confirmed details about the “Genshin Impact” project. Accordingly, it remains unclear whether only further short films are planned or whether a complete series may be made in the future.
As usual, you will find the corresponding video below these lines. Please let us know what you think of it in the comments!
